Sangwon Yoon is a writer and expert on Asia, the Middle East, and the intersection of geopolitics, technology, and financial markets.

She is a former political risk reporter and diplomatic correspondent for Bloomberg News. She wrote about North Korea's second hereditary succession of power, the Syrian civil war, the United Nations, and U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry's overseas travels. She has also covered the Arab-Israeli conflict and the 2011 Arab Spring protests for Al Jazeera English in Doha, Qatar. Prior to that she reported for The Associated Press in Seoul and Reuters in Jerusalem.

Sangwon was a Presidential Honors Scholar at New York University, where she earned her B.A. in Middle Eastern and Islamic Studies. She is fluent Korean, French and Hebrew and continues to work on her Arabic and yiddish.
